Calbourne’s The Sun Inn is looking for a new publican following its sudden closure earlier this month.
Located on Sun Hill in the village, the pub was well-known for its home-cooked food and local beverages.
Island Echo understands that Stonegate closed the pub earlier this month, after the most recent manager stepped aside. Factors such as rising operational costs, utilities and other expenses are believed to be behind the decision.
It was only back in August that the previous team in charge issued a ‘use us or lose us’ plea.
It is believed that when fully operational, the business could turnover as much as £339,300 per year. The business is available on a Fixed Term Tenancy (FTT).
Comments from the Stonegate Regional Manager say that any new publican would need to ’embrace the village and really immerse themselves within the local community’.

It’s a dying trade and with the recent budget, the game is
over for many businesses.
Better turning it into an home or homes.
Another dumb, blinkered comment
Another true comment, why do people get
offended when being told the truth.
If this pub was successful they wouldn’t be selling.
They were doing exceptional deals this year,
buy 1 fish and chips and get 1 free, yet they
still closed down.
In the wrong location and under this current
Government people have less money to spend.
FACT!
