A road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist on the main road at Blackwater is causing delays in and out of Newport this morning (Thursday).
The incident has occurred on Blackwater Road outside Mole’s Country Stores.
Emergency services are on scene with the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service mobilising 1 paramedic crew so far.
Traffic is building in the area with motorists advised to divert via Long Lane/Downend until further notice. The road is expected to be closed shortly.
Southern Vectis buses are facing delays and diversions.
UPDATE – The motorcyclist has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital suffering with arm injuries.
Blackwater Road has now re-opened and buses have returned to a normal route.

Reports like these , it would be nice to know why ??? If motorcyclist was driving within the rules of the highway code, then I hope he is not too badly injured and has speedy recovery…. but if was not within the rules, then he is only to blame.
Only a person with an incredibly low IQ would make a comment like this.
why does it matter why this happened? an accident has been reported end of.

So it couldn’t possibly be the car drivers fault then? Like not being aware of other road users, driving too close to the biker, pulling out on the bike. Please do not make assumptions.
