The annual rally organised by the Isle of Wight branch of the Morris Minor Owner’s Club took place at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway this September and saw over 50 Minors and 20 other Classic Cars coming from far and wide to join the Isle of Wight branch in celebrating the much-loved first British car to sell a million.
Music was played throughout the day, the Steam Railway was in full swing, and there were many different stalls of all sorts giving visitors plenty to see and do at the event. Southern Vectis kindly loaned The Old Girl Bus for the day, allowing for 2 packed trips out from the events field on mystery tours.
This year the club chose to team up with Wessex Cancer Trust to raise vital funds for those living locally with a cancer diagnosis. The event was a great success, and through both a tombola and raffle, the day raised £288 for Wessex Cancer Trust.
Laura Haytack, Regional Fundraising Manager, said:
“We’re hugely grateful to both the Morris Minor Owners Club and those who attended the event which made it such a success. This money is going to make a huge different to allow Wessex Cancer Trust to continue to provide free and local support to those that need our services.”

What a great thing to do. Proud to be a Minor owner myself, they’re the best car ever made, had a great time meeting with other Minor lovers on the day! Well done all!
Well done everyone, good job.
