Glen Winnard and last-minute stand-in Kim Meguyer claimed victory in Westridge Golf Club’s July Cup after a countback decided a closely fought greensomes medal competition.
Overcast and cooler conditions gave way to near-perfect golfing weather for Sunday’s July Cup at Westridge Golf Club.
Competing in the greensomes medal event, Meguyer and Winnard carded an impressive net 56 to take the title on countback from Nikki Glasgow and Ollie Kearney, who also finished on net 56.
Alfie Boxall and Bob Singh-Bansi, who had set the early pace, finished a shot further back on net 57 to secure 3rd place.
Elsewhere during the week, Paul Tucker won the July 1 Par competition with a score of 4-up, ahead of Steve Persechino (2-up), Melvyn Probyn (1-up on countback) and Brian Skelley (1-up).
