Summer is well and truly over with spells of heavy, thundery rain heading towards the Isle of Wight tomorrow (Tuesday), which has prompted a yellow weather warning to be issued by the IW Met Service.
Forecasters say that the rain will arrive during the early hours of Tuesday morning bringing the potential of localised flooding in the usual prone areas, as well as lots of surface water and spray on the roads.
A whopping 25-40mm of rainfall is possible over the space of just a few hours with the risk of some larger totals locally of up to 60mm.
Islanders are being warned that there is also the risk of some rivers breaching their banks, as well as the potential for storm drain overflow on some beaches.
The warning is in force from 02:00 on Tuesday morning until 13:00 in the afternoon.
