A new art gallery at the Earl Mountbatten Hospice is continuing to attract interest from local talent keen to display their work while supporting patient care on the Island.
So far the Hospice has hosted two exhibitions, the first displaying work by Helen Stiles and the second featuring pictures by members of the Shanklin-based Black Cat Art Group.
In January, there will be an open exhibition where Island artists can submit just one picture each for a fee of £10, with 20% of any sale going towards patient care at Earl Mountbatten.
15 artists have already signed up for the January exhibition, which is being co-ordinated by Hospice trustee, Anne Axford.
Anne said:
“It’s truly fantastic that so many talented Island artists are supporting Earl Mountbatten through its new gallery.
“Many people are dropping in to have a wander round the corridors and admire the work on display. It’s great for visitors and patients, as well as being a very worthwhile way to show off local talent while raising money for a fantastic cause.”
Up to 40 pictures will be displayed at the January open exhibition. Artists who would like to be considered for selection should submit a JPEC photograph with details of size, medium and retail price, to [email protected], by 1st December.
