A 60-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and possessing offensive weapons after Police were called to a residential address in Godshill this afternoon (Wednesday).
Officers were called to May Close at 15:10, where a man was reported to be making threats whilst allegedly armed with a baseball bat and nunchucks.
The 60-year-old was subsequently arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and possessing offensive weapons.
He was also arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest and assaulting Police officers.
The incident, on the outskirts of the village, prompted a sizeable emergency services response, with 3 Police cars, a Police van and an ambulance attending the scene.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed to Island Echo that the man remains in custody at this time.
