Light up the Wight has returned for 2020, bringing you the extra cheer and joy you deserve after such a challenging year.
This year sees a total of 26 entries on the map including a number of new displays such as Culver Way in Yaverland and Whitecross Lane, Shanklin.
Follow the map to explore the wide variety of Christmas lights across the Isle of Wight in your own vehicle and in a COVID safe way. The larger displays are marked with Santa’s hat and those raising money for charity appear with a red number.
Southern Vectis has once again teamed up with Island Echo to sponsor the festive competition with a Β£25o top prize for the Island’s best display, as voted for by you. Sadly, due to the pandemic, Southern Vectis is not running their Christmas tour bus this year but will be operating their regular services throughout the festive period.
To download the map and vote for your favourite display head over to www.islandecho.co.uk/xmas.
Voting closes on 2nd January 2021 and the winners will be announced on 11th January.

I’m gutted there won’t be the viewing bus, I’ve found previously some house locations a bit dangerous for children exiting the car etc. It’s a shame 2 buses couldn’t run to socially distance passengers, rather than none.
Brading Residents Association are holding a Festival of Christmas Stars as from 19th December to 2nd January. Maps will be available locally. Folks can park up and take a walk to search for the stars. Some residents have also put up Christmas lights (not on the map). We do advise ‘Wear something bright, reflective if possible, use a torch take care on the roadsides/ roadways, especially with children. Wear good footwear as some road surfaces may be uneven. There is also ‘ Light up Brading Christmas’ so should be plenty to see in Brading! Enjoy.
