Light up the Wight is your official guide to the very best Christmas lights displays on the Isle of Wight

Congratulations to Whitecross Lane, Shanklin for winning Light up the Wight 2021 and scooping £250 prize money!

2nd place – Wellesley Way, Newport (£100)
3rd place – Green Lake, Shanklin 81A (£50)

In 2021, Light up the Wight saw a record number of entries – 37 in total – with Whitecross Lane scooping the top spot, which is a strong achievement for a relatively new display.

More than 2,300 votes were cast by members of the public throughout December, demonstrating that the passion for Christmas lights is stronger than ever before.

It’s known that more than £3,500 has been raised for charity by those displays taking part in Light up the Wight 2021, with even more fundraising totals expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Southern Vectis was able to once again run their annual tour bus, which proved to be a sell-out success. Thanks to the Island’s bus operator for sponsoring Light up the Wight, showing their continued support for the competition and map.
