Firefighters from Newport have responded to a property fire in Cowes this morning (Monday).
2 appliances from Newport were mobilised to the scene on Mill Hill Road, at just before 08:00.
Crews arrived to find the oven fire had been extinguished prior to their arrival.
Positive pressure ventilation has cleared smoke from the building.
2 smoke alarms have been fitted.

Why no fire engine Cowes? If this had been a serious fire could of resulted in deaths from delay !

FYI, Newport is the only station crewed 24/7. Ryde is crewed daytime only. All others are fully retained.
