We all dream of a ‘Wight’ Christmas, but will we see the white stuff in 2022? Here is IW Met Service’s Christmas forecast, taking a look at the Isle of Wight’s weather between now and the New Year.
Sadly, it seems highly unlikely that snow will fall on Christmas Day – or at all during the festive period.
The weather will continue to be fairly grey and wet between now and Christmas Day as low pressure dominates the South.
Christmas Eve is looking a particularly unsettled day. Some showers will be present with an increased risk of rain as the day progresses. However, it will feel fairly mild at 11-12c.
For the big day itself, Christmas Day, rain will move across the Island early in the day although some brighter conditions are expected later on. Temperatures will stay at around 11c.
It’s all change on Boxing Day though as a ridge of high pressure settles things down. A mostly dry day is in store with sunny spells, making it the best day of the festive period weatherwise. It will be noticeably colder, however, with the mercury sitting at just 5c or 6c.

Tuesday 27th – which is a bank holiday in lieu of Christmas Day – will be mild and mostly cloudy.
As we head towards New Year’s, the weather will again turn more unsettled with wind, rain and cloud moving in once again.
