As the long-awaited Isle of Wight Council elections on 7th May draw closer, a number of well-known faces at County Hall have already thrown their hat into the ring.
While some have confirmed they are hoping to remain at the top-level of Island politics, others are stepping down and many have not yet publicly revealed their intentions.
Upcoming elections were postponed from May last year and elected councillors will serve until May 2029.
Polling cards will be delivered from 23rd March onwards and the last day to register to vote is 20th April.

I Love Bacon, it makes me Fuller, but we should call time on their “service”.
Bearing in mind that the members mentioned like holding multiple roles in as many parish/town councils as they can, in addition to their IOWC gig, it will be a cold day in hell before they willingly relinquish their jobs. About time they let someone else have a go.
Nice in a crusty roll too.
Get jarman out straightaway,he is a closet tory only in it for himself, abhorrent man.
So,the election is what, six and a bit weeks away ? Forms have to be in by,I think, April 9th and I assume they will be campaigning. And the majority don’t know whether they want to stand again ? Yeah, right.
No one gets my vote Cesspit Britain get out while you.
