Traveling to Northern Ireland 2 weeks ago, the 25-year-old gained valuable experience at the 8.97-mile course on the Causeway Coast against established names and top-class racers.
Originally a groundworker here on the Isle of Wight, Ryan is now based in Northern Ireland where he is picking up work to finance his racing.
Ryan started racing in 2018 having watched the thrill of ‘between the hedges’ Irish road racing on television and took part in his first race at Oulton Park as a rookie in the Thundersport series. He finished 2nd in the Championship that year and the following year runner up again in the sportsman/elite 600 class.
Since then, he has entered the Superstock and Supertwins classes on his Yamaha R6 and his Kawasaki 650 competing at Snetterton where he won twice and at Mallory Park where he also won.
Racing is never easy and Ryan suffered a huge crash at Armoy in 2021, taking some 8 months to recover from a smashed right leg with compound fractures and the wearing of an external cage.

Ryan would like to thank his existing sponsors for all their support, especially fellow Islander George Richards, who prepared his bikes. His ultimate goal is to race the legendary Isle of Man TT course – 37 ¾ miles of public road with over 200 corners each lap.
Ryan currently has a small number of local Island sponsors but is looking for further funding. If any Island companies would like to sponsor Ryan on his racing journey. contact Rod Warne on 07970 009725.

I have followed Ryan and his racing, and what an unbelievably strong willed, determined and very talented young man he is. Aftet the injuries he sustained, most people would have given up on bikes, or claimed benifits for the rest of their lives, but those were never options for Ryan.. We could all learn alot from him. This lad really is “living the dream”.. If anyone can help with any form of sponsorship, I know he would really appreciate it. This could come in many forms, as on funding his tyres, travel, entry fee’s etc or untimely a full sponsorship deal..
Go Ryan
I totally agree Keith. We saw Ryan racing at Mallory last year, and we were very impressed with his riding/racing skills, he is truly a talented young man, with the right support and backing he is definitely a star in the making.
Well done Ryan. Hope you make it to the TT.
