Connor Tymon has won his professional mixed martial arts debut at the One Championship in Thailand.
He defeated his opponent Sumit ‘Eagle’ Bhyan of Bangalore India through technical knockout at 0:46 of Round 2.
The fight – which was live-streamed worldwide – was staged at the world-famous Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok: a venue that fighters usually only dream of competing in.
Connor is the co-owner, coach and fighter at Lake-based Brotherhood MMA. Having fought for a number of years as an amateur mixed martial artist, his debut in professional ranks has been long overdue.
The Isle of Wight mixed martial artist is currently the Island Fight League Welterweight Champion and the Shock N Awe Welterweight Champion.
Connor and his brother and head coach, Kalon Tymon, flew out to Koh Samui in Thailand last month to focus on preparations for the biggest fight of his life and have been training training at the Royal Fight Club Samui.
His chance to compete at a professional level on the world stage came at short notice and his trip has been entirely self-funded, with a GoFundMe page set up to help Connor get to Thailand and chase his dreams.
