More than 250 nominations celebrating outstanding care and dedication across Isle of Wight NHS Trust were recognised at this year’s Delivering Excellence Awards.
Isle of Wight NHS Trust celebrated the achievements of staff, teams and volunteers from across the organisation at its annual Delivering Excellence Awards.
The ceremony, held at GG’s in Newport, featured 15 award categories recognising individuals and teams for their teamwork and exceptional care for patients, families and communities.
More than 250 nominations were received from patients, colleagues and partner organisations, highlighting the kindness, professionalism and commitment shown by staff across the Trust.
Sponsored by PC Consultants, Isle of Wight NHS Trust Charity, APCOA, Mountjoy and Clarke’s Mechanical, the event brought together colleagues from across the organisation to celebrate their achievements and recognise those who embody the Trust’s values.
One of the highlights of the evening was the People’s Choice Award, which went to Student Nurse Apprentice Karolina Adamski.
Karolina was praised for her compassion, preparation and patient-centred approach. Her nomination described how she treats every patient as an individual and provides reassurance, particularly for those living with dementia.
She was also recognised for supporting patients with special needs, regularly bringing sensory items to help those who may become distressed or overwhelmed.
“Karolina does not just care for patients; she makes them feel loved, seen, and less alone.”
“Despite being an apprentice, she demonstrates maturity, empathy, and dedication far beyond expectations.”
Penny Emerit, Chief Executive of Isle of Wight NHS Trust, said:
“The Delivering Excellence Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding individuals who help make our Trust an exceptional place to work and receive care.”
“It was an honour to hear about all the nominations and showcase the amazing teams and individuals that work in our Trust. I would like to congratulate and thank all our staff, volunteers and teams for the contributions they make every day.”
