The countdown is on for one of the Isle of Wight’s most colourful community celebrations, with Red Funnel delighted once again to support East Cowes Carnival with a £2,500 sponsorship.
The donation will help bring the much-loved event back to the streets of East Cowes on Saturday 22nd August, as the town comes alive with vibrant homemade floats, marching bands, dance groups, Carnival Royalty and hundreds of local people celebrating the town together.
Ahead of the big day, organisers from the East Cowes Carnival Committee and the 2026 Carnival Queens visited Red Funnel to receive their sponsorship from Operations Director, Neil Chapman.
Following an incredible comeback in 2025 after a 30-year break, the East Cowes Carnival is now firmly back on the Island’s events calendar. Alongside the evening parade setting off at 19:15, visitors can enjoy a free family fun day from 12:00-18:00, featuring live music, entertainment, face painting and activities for all ages.
The carnival is organised entirely by volunteers and supported by local fundraising, with Red Funnel’s sponsorship helping to cover essential costs including the marching bands as part of the community family fun day.
Neil Chapman, Operations Director at Red Funnel, said:
“Community events like East Cowes Carnival bring people together and create memories that last for generations. We’re incredibly proud to support the carnival for a second year and can’t wait to see the streets filled with colour, music and community spirit once again.”
Carrie Lacey, Chair of East Cowes Carnival, said:
“This support makes such a difference. It helps us put on a fantastic free event for everyone and gives the carnival the foundations to keep growing. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for another unforgettable day.”
Everyone is invited to join the celebrations by lining the parade route or enjoying the free family fun day. For the latest updates, visit the East Cowes Carnival Facebook Page or the East Cowes Carnival Website.
