A 10-year-old Isle of Wight girl is hoping to fundraise £500 for the Little Princess Trust in a mission close to home after growing up seeing her mum struggle with alopecia.
Faith-Louise, 10, told her mother Shannon that she wants to grow her hair in order to donate it to the Trust, who provide free real hair wigs to children and young people up to the age of 24 who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment or other conditions.
Shannon told Island Echo how proud she is of her young daughter for doing something so kind and thoughtful especially as the topic is so close to home.
The Little Princess Trust provide free, real hair wigs to children and young people up to the age of 24, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.
Shannon, Faith’s mum said:
“For such a young girl to understand that and want to do something kind to help other girls means the world to me. It’s something real. I have suffered with alopecia for years and she has seen first hand how self conscious I can feel about my bald patches.”
Faith aims to raise £500 for the Trust whilst she waits for her hair to grow enough to do the big chop. You can find the donation page here.
