UPDATED & VIDEO: HOVERTRAVEL SUSPEND SERVICES AS ADVERSE WEATHER HITS

Hovertravel have suspended their cross-Solent service this afternoon (Thursday) due to the adverse weather conditions.

Rough seas on the crossing between Ryde to Southsea has resulted in the decision being taken to halt operations.

An update is expected at 17:15.

Meanwhile, Island Line trains are terminating at Ryde Esplanade until further notice due to the sea overlapping the pier structure at Ryde.

UPDATE @ 17:12 – Hovertravel services remain suspended this evening. The next update will be at 19:15.

UPDATE @ 20:25 – Hovertravel services will remain suspended overnight. The next update will be at on Friday at 05:45.
