Hovertravel has announced a significant boost to its timetable for this year’s Isle of Wight Festival, with departures operating every 15 minutes on the Thursday before and the Monday after.
The enhanced schedule on Thursday 18th June and Monday 22nd June 2026 is designed to support the thousands of music fans travelling to and from the Island.
In total, the increase represents an additional 82 flights added across the Festival period, providing greater flexibility and helping to ease peak travel demand.
With a crossing time of just 10 minutes between Southsea and Ryde, Hovertravel offers the fastest way across the Solent for foot passengers – making it an ideal choice for festival-goers looking for a quick and convenient journey at the start and end of the weekend.
This latest announcement builds on previously released news that Hovertravel will also operate late Sunday night flights following the Festival’s closing performances. Those additional departures from Ryde at 22:45, 23:15 and 23:45 were introduced in direct response to customer feedback requesting more flexibility after the final acts.
Loretta Lale, Head of Marketing at Hovertravel, has said:
“The Isle of Wight Festival weekend is one of our busiest times of the year. By increasing our service to departures every 15 minutes on the Thursday and Monday, we’re giving customers more choice and helping to spread demand more evenly. These flights are incredibly popular and can get booked up fast, so we strongly recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.”
Tickets for all Festival weekend services are available to book now via the Hovertravel website at https://www.hovertravel.co.uk/isle-of-wight-festival.

Just goes to show they can run a more efficient service when it suits.
Obviously they will sting Festival goers by charging higher fares!
I bet the hover will have a technical hitch putting huge pressure on the fast cat
Weather permitting.
Has anyone convened with both hovers?
They will probably fail in their usual epic style if the weather doesn’t play up.
