Isle of Wight Festival-goers are being urged to dig deep in aid of Earl Mountbatten Hospice during this weekend’s event.
A team of staff, volunteers and supporters will be raising vital funds for patient and family care by selling the Hospice’s iconic sunflowers, which are launched at the annual festival.
Sales at the Isle of Wight Festival have previously generated in the region of £15,000, which is a significant amount of money and helps towards the £7million it costs to run the Hospice and its community services over just one year.
Revellers will find it hard to miss the team’s bright yellow marquee, kindly donated for the event by Coast and Country, which will be situated in Penny Lane.
Dani Johnson, Community Events Fundraiser, said:
“It is always a great atmosphere at the festival and the public are very generous in their support. If you are heading to the event, drop by and say hello or pick up a sunflower from one of our volunteers who will be out and about around the site.”
Nigel Hartley, Chief Executive at Earl Mountbatten Hospice, said:
“This weekend is as much about getting our message out about our work to a wider audience as it is about being an important event in our fundraising calendar. We are incredibly grateful to John Giddings for his support, and we look forward to a great festival!”
