Lucky 4-year-old Frankie Stacey from Poole is to join Islander Charlie Luckman as a mascot for the Wightlink Warriors speedway team in 2016.
Frankie’s mum Dawn said:
“Frankie’s been attending speedway from around 3 weeks old and has been riding motorcycles since the age of 3. He started riding on a qr50 and now rides a KTM mini adventure. Frankie attends regular motocross meetings and will be starting to compete racing in May. However, speedway is in Frankie’s blood, his grandad was a sponsor and involved for many years on the Isle of Wight, and now we cannot wait to see Frankie on the track at Smallbrook.
“The Isle of Wight is extremely special for me, having spent many seasons on the island and making some very good friends there. This is a fantastic opportunity for us all to be involved in such a wonderful club and we cannot wait for the season to start.”
Warriors Co-boss Barry Bishop said:
“Frankie’s family has been involved in speedway for many years so it’s extremely pleasing for us that Dawn has chosen the Warriors for Frankie to start on the speedway tracks. I am really looking forward to see Charlie and Frankie inspiring others to get a bike as they take their place with the Warriors. This is going to be a great year. Welcome to the Warriors Frankie.”
