Isle of Wight band Five Degrees North opened up the Isle of Wight Festival Main Stage last Saturday ahead of performances from Busted, Paul Heaton and Stereophonics.
The trio took to the iconic stage at 11:55 after winning the annual Wight Noize competition back in April. During their 30-minute set, the band played singles including Carvel Lane and Julie Anne. They also performed an unreleased track, Red River.
Pulling punters to Seaclose Park early, they were on before The Saw Doctors, Busted and Saturday night headliners Stereophonics.
Speaking about their Main Stage show, the band said:
“It was the biggest honour of our lives.
“It meant so much to us as Islanders to be able to play the greatest and biggest stage the Isle of Wight has.”
During their slot, the band thanked Platform One, John Giddings and Solo for the support.
The night before their Main Stage appearance, Five Degrees North, made up of guitarist Will Morrison, drummer Louis ‘Linguini’ Marshall and bassist Mike Fuller, headlined the Platform One tent.
In September, the band will move to Brighton for University, where they hope to keep the music going.
