Firefighters are tackling a kitchen fire at an address on Pan estate in Newport this evening (Friday).
2 appliances are on scene at a domestic property on John Street, off Robin Hood Street.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the incident at 19:16.
Crews – a mixture of wholetime and retained – are using breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to bring the situation under control.
UPDATE @ 20:45 – The fire has been extinguished and positive pressure ventilation is being used to clear smoke from the property.
