An incident involving a car on a driveway in Ryde has prompted an emergency response by fire crews, paramedics and Police this evening (Friday).
Emergency services are in attendance at Playstreet Lane, where 2 fire appliances from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are working alongside the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service to assess and extricate the driver of a Honda Jazz.
It is currently unclear what exactly has led to suspected injuries being sustained, although it appears the car has collided with other vehicles on the large residential driveway.
UPDATE @ 18:07 – The Honda Jazz has been stabilised by firefighters and paramedics have prepared a spinal board.
However, the female driver of the Jazz has now exited the vehicle of her own accord and has walked to the awaiting ambulance. She is being checked over by paramedics, but appears to have escaped any serious injury.
It is understood the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was en-route to the incident, but stood down en-route.
A VW Caddy has been damaged as a result of the Jazz crashing at low speed into the rear quarter panel.
Fire crews are now standing down from the incident, with other emergency services expected to follow shortly.
