The Boundary Commission for England has today published its final recommendations for new constituency boundaries including those on the Isle of Wight.
This follows submission of its final recommendations report to the Speaker of the House of Commons yesterday (Tuesday) and that report now being laid before Parliament. The Commission has now fulfilled its statutory responsibilities, and the submission of the report and its publication ends the Commission’s involvement in the 2023 Boundary Review.
Secretary to the Commission, Tim Bowden, said:
“The recommendations we have published today mark the end of a thorough and consultative process to build the new map of Parliamentary constituencies. We have taken into account over 60,000 public comments, travelled the country, and heard many passionate views about how best to reflect local community ties in our recommendations.”
“We are confident that our final recommendations are the best reflection of the statutory rules Parliament has set us. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has participated in the 2023 Boundary Review.’
The Government now has 4 months to bring forward an Order to give effect to the final recommendations.
The final recommendations can be viewed on the Commission’s website at https://boundarycommissionforengland.independent.gov.uk/

Why do we need two parasites claiming expenses?
As iv’e said before will need a bigger trough
Can we get rid of Bob now ?? Please …
Who cares. I won’t be voting for any of them.
Why in the name of Christ does the isle of white need to be split into two different county constituencies the whole island is just one county one constituency this is just another justification for putting council tax up parking fees up etc etc just to justify rediculasly high salaries for councilors and to creat positions for yet more rediculasly over paid councilors the island should be one constituency one county and have one councilor for each of the main 3 political parties and only the councilor who is from the party that is “elected” on the island should be getting paid and they should be on minimum wage then we wouldn’t have to pay to park and pay road tax and council tax would be more reasonable
I think you are confusing parliamentary constituencies, with local council wards.
Whilst I agree with many that we don’t need two MPs, (especially conservative ones, if the confused IOW voters haven’t yet had enough of them & their corrupt ways)
AFAIK this does not change the number of local councillors or anything to do with the local council or council tax.
(or are you just using this story as an excuse to have a good old whinge)
And the disabled who need care funding from the council wouldn’t have to pay £1000 per month “contribution” to the council out of the pitence they get in benefits Great Britain what an insult it’s more like communist China aspecialy as they are on about the utility companies being state owned now it’s getting more like socialist nazi Germany every day
Ahh, that’s a shame,.. I just fall into the ‘East Wight’ constituency,..
so I’ll no longer be able to NOT vote for half-sausage-seely..
I suppose I’ll just have to console myself by NOT voting for Joe Robertson
I think it could it be a good thing if we get 2 MPs from opposing parties, and with different agendas. The real issues might then be highlighted and acted upon.
But the worse case scenario would be to just get two of what we have now.
If you care about the future of the Island vote for an
Independent who actually cares about the Island.
Seely Sausage does not even live on the Island.
