Ryde-based restaurant Heron is to open up a second premises later this year – this time in the heart of Cowes. The new restaurant, located at the former Gastronomy premises on High Street, will join the business’ current location on Castle Street in Ryde. At the start of January, Gastronomy in Cowes announced that they were to close with immediate effect citing pressures that running the business had put on their personal and professional lives, as first reported by Island Echo. A post on Heron’s social media pages has said:
“It’s official – we’ve got the keys to our new location in Cowes and can’t wait to fire up the grills”.
The 2x AA Rosette eatery – headed up by chef Alex Kimber – is well known for its fine dining experience. It is hoped that the Cowes branch will open in April.
