Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus have entered a property and removed an overheated saucepan from the stove in Freshwater this afternoon (Tuesday).
1 appliance was mobilised to an address at The Sheilings at just before 16:40.
Island Echo is told that an elderly female occupant is being treated for smoke inhalation having been inside the heavily smoke-logged property.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service has been requested to attend the scene with reports of an ambulance officer proceeding west.
According to fire control there is no actual fire – the alert was caused by a smoking overheated saucepan.
Positive pressure ventilation is currently being used to rid smoke from the property.

Hope the Elderly lady is ok, must be traumatic for her, thank God it didn’t end with a fire, it could have been tragic.
