Police arrested 2 men yesterday (Tuesday) after they allegedly breached a closure order in Newport.
At around 16:56, Police were called to reports of a closure order being breached on Angelica Close in Newport.

A closure order is an order prohibiting access to the premises for a specified period. Orders are normally granted to stop entry to a property if there is anti-social behaviour or public nuisance associated with its use.
Carr has since been bailed to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 21st October, whilst Wood has been remanded in custody to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday).
Sergeant Chantal Miller from the Neighbourhood Policing Team said:
“Our officers take all reports of anti-social behaviour and criminal activity extremely seriously.
“We’re committed to addressing drug-related harm and the impact this has on neighbours and the wider community. Addressing drug related harm is a current West Wight NPT priority which has been raised by the local community via ASB surveys and Lets Talk.
This order gives us additional powers to arrest anyone that shouldn’t be at the property and this in turn will ensure that anti-social behaviour related to drug use and dealing will be dealt with robustly by our teams.”
UPDATE ON MONDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER – Arran Wood has admitted remaining on/entering a premises in contravention of a closure notice and will appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court tomorrow (30th September).
