Islanders are being urged to vote for Mountbatten in The People’s Choice award at this year’s National Charity Today Awards.
However, time is running out for Islanders to show their support, with voting closing at 17:00 on Friday 3rd October and every vote making a real difference to Mountbatten’s chances of securing the national honour.
The Mountbatten Group – which brings together Mountbatten Isle of Wight and Mountbatten Hampshire – has been shortlisted for the coveted national award, which recognises charities making an extraordinary impact in their communities.
Mountbatten delivers vital and compassionate care to thousands of people across the Island, Southampton and large parts of Hampshire. From inpatient units and hospitals to the Frances Sheldon Centre in Hampshire and the John Cheverton Centre on the Island, staff and volunteers are available 24 hours a day to support those with life-limiting conditions, people at the end of their lives, and their families.
The charity also provides bereavement support for anyone who needs it, regardless of whether their loved one was cared for by Mountbatten, and runs around 20 charity shops and warehouses across both counties, alongside 2 popular cafés.
Mountbatten CEO Becky McGregor said:
“Every day, Mountbatten’s amazing staff and volunteers go above and beyond to ensure people across the Island, Southampton and Hampshire live and die as well as possible.
It would be incredible to be able to win this award, both in recognition of their incredible efforts and on behalf of the many thousands of people who have been cared for by our charities — as well as their family and friends.
Help us be in with a chance of winning, by voting for The Mountbatten Group, before 17:00 on Friday 3rd October. Thank you!”
The results will be revealed at the National Charity Today Awards ceremony on 15th October.

I believe the Bereavement Service is 50% Funded by Mountbatten’s partners…KissyPuppy.
Who also fund anything that is child or young adult related. Such a wonderful place and, since partnering with KissyPuppy, is the only Hospice in the UK that offers adult AND child care in the same building.
