There are delays on a main Isle of Wight commuter route this afternoon (Monday) following a minor road traffic collision.
Resources from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary and Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were first called to the scene on Quarr Hill, between Quarr Abbey and the Binstead Hill roundabout, at around 16:15 following reports of a road traffic collision.
The collision has involved a Fiat 500 and another vehicle, although only the Italian-made hatchback remains at the scene. Island Echo understands that no injuries have been reported.
Quarr Hill remains open, but traffic in the area is significant.
Southern Vectis is warning of delays to both Route 4 & 9 buses.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area for the time being.
UPDATE – The vehicle has been recovered and the road has fully reopened.

Why? a silly little tap could of driven on to somewhere better..
are you suggesting that someone should have driven a car, which was potentially in an un-roadworthy condition, on a public road??
