Cowes Classic Day will return to The Parade next month (Sunday 1st June), with over 60 vintage cars, historic vessels, live music and a Spitfire display on offer at this free community event.
Organised by the Royal London Yacht Club and supported by Cowes Town Council, the event celebrates classic car and boat design and is expected to draw large crowds from across the Isle of Wight and beyond.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a packed display of vintage vehicles, including Daimlers, Aston Martins, Rolls Royces, Jaguars, Bentleys, Triumphs and Morris Minors. Enthusiasts will also be able to chat with proud owners and take part in the “People’s Choice” award, with winners announced at 15:00. The colourful working replica of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is also set to return.
Trinity Landing will feature a range of historic and iconic motor vessels and yachts. Among them will be LILIAN, a gentleman’s motor yacht built in 1916 in Stockholm and originally owned by Danish banker Emil Gluckstadt. Steam Pinnace No. 199 from the National Museum of the Royal Navy will also be on display, with demonstrations taking place across the weekend.
Owners of classic yachts and motorboats are invited to join the line-up with free berthing available. Booking arrangements can be made by contacting [email protected].
Entertainment on the day will include a performance by the 1940s trio The Boogie-Woogie Blue Birds at 12:00, followed by a Spitfire flypast at 13:30. Refreshments will be available from The Garden, Plaza Ice Cream and Honey’s Donuts.
Julia Pettit, Event Chair, has said:
“We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to The Parade, so book 1st June into your diary now.”

I love seeing the vintage cars, much better than
the Takeover Numpty’s on the island speeding along in
their STs.
I am glad it’s over, such events encourage speeding,
something the island doesn’t need.
