A yellow weather warning for heavy rain across the Isle of Wight – with the potential for torrential downpours and thunder at times – has been issued by IW Met Service for Friday (13th October).
It will certainly be ‘unlucky for some’ as a wide area of persistent and rather heavy rain will affect the Island through the early hours of Friday morning. This will likely become very heavy at times by daylight.
Forecasters say that the rain is likely to become more showery as time goes on, but within these showery outbreaks will be some torrential downpours, perhaps even thundery at times.
20-25mm of rain is likely to fall rather widely but locally as much as 40mm could fall.
Islanders should be aware of the potential for localised flooding. Poor visibility and spray will lead to hazardous driving conditions on exposed and elevated routes.
Despite the Met Office issuing a warning for tomorrow (Thursday), local forecasters say it is Friday that has the potential for disruption.

Personally, I shall be going by IW Met services warning.
they are super talented and very accurate with their forecasts.
really ? why do we have to have this crap all the bloody time…
A little bit of rain in winter. Time for our media to act like the UK is going to flood and we are all going to die.
Please can we not have the forecasted rainfall in millimeters. We used to be told in inches and we could understand that.
