The Chief Rabbi of the United Kingdom, Sir Ephraim Mirvis, paid a visit to the Isle of Wight at the weekend, where he was seen enjoying an evening walk in Cowes.
Sir Ephraim, who has held the role of Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth since 2013, appeared relaxed as he took in the seafront views with his wife at The Parade.
The couple arrived in Cowes in a small convoy of vehicles and were discreetly accompanied by officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Diplomatic Protection Group.
The purpose of the senior religious leader’s trip to the Isle of Wight is not known.
Sir Ephraim is widely recognised for his leadership within the Jewish community in the UK and across the Commonwealth, as well as for his work in promoting interfaith dialogue.
Cowes has seen a famous visitor of a very different kind this week too…
Katie Price was joined by her son Harvey on a trip to the Island to visit her mum, Amy.
The former model was seen drinking in The Painter’s Arms on Saturday.
She has been a visitor to the Island for well over a decade.
On Saturday, Robert Jenrick MP attended a Conservative Party fundraiser at a private residence in Bembridge.
He also enjoyed a visit to Osborne House – accompanied by his wife and dogs.
