Wootton-based Brightbulb Design has raised £1,350 for the Caring Cancer Trust as part of their charity of the year scheme.
The money has been raised over the course of a year, through a social media digital raffle as well as approaching Waitrose to be part of their charity scheme.
In addition, a number of fundraising events have taken place across the Island including the Brighstone Christmas Tree Festival, where Brightbulb had a presence and crafted a Christmas tree with handmade baubles from many of the children affected by cancer.
Chris Ody, The charity’s Honorary Chairman comments:
“The money raised will mean we can take 5 more children who are suffering or have suffered from childhood cancer on a healing holiday of adventure to try and re-ignite their passion for life.”
As well as raising the £1,350, Brightbulb has also provided the Caring Cancer Trust with a brand new website and design paraphernalia free of charge, adding much to their overall support for the charity.
Fiona Jeffery, Brightbulb’s head of happiness who drove the charity campaign, adds:
“It’s such a pleasure as an Island business to be able to give back and pull our business connections together so that we can help such a worthy cause. Thanks to all the businesses that donated prizes to the raffle and supported us in raising money for the Caring Cancer Trust.”
For the coming year, BrightBulb has nominated The Wight Brainy Bunch as their charity of choice. The small Island charity was established by Kathryn and Mark Grimes following firefighter Mark’s diagnosis of a brain tumour in 2015 – you can find out more at https://www.thewightbrainybunch.org.uk/.
