Health and care professionals are being invited to secure their place at the Mountbatten Conference 2026 in Southampton this March.
The Mountbatten Conference 2026 will take place at St Mary’s Stadium – home of Southampton FC – on Thursday 19th March 2026.
This year’s theme is:
‘Fit for the Future: Delivering palliative and end-of-life care, together — Making the NHS ten-year plan a reality.’
Professionals working across the NHS, social care, hospice care and the voluntary sector are being encouraged to attend the full-day event, which will focus on collaboration and shared learning.
Guest speakers and discussion groups will explore how organisations can work together to deliver high-quality palliative and end-of-life care, while meeting the ambitions of the NHS ten-year plan and the emerging Modern Service Framework for Palliative and End of Life Care.
Around 85% of Mountbatten Isle of Wight’s work takes place in people’s homes across large parts of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Speakers and sessions
Mountbatten Hampshire and Mountbatten Isle of Wight CEO Becky McGregor will lead a workshop titled The Development of Mountbatten’s new three-year strategy — your voice, encouraging delegates to help shape the organisation’s future direction.
Keynote speaker Jane Wheeler, CEO of Harlington Hospice, will share her experience of leading a strategic review of specialist palliative care, which resulted in substantial recurrent investment from her local NHS integrated care board.
Nigel Hartley MBE will deliver the annual Frances Sheldon Memorial Lecture, drawing on more than 40 years’ experience in hospice care as a therapist, senior manager and retired CEO-turned consultant and mentor.
Kathryn Bowden, Primary Care and Integrated Neighbourhood Working Coordinator, will outline her work supporting and coordinating joint neighbourhood working across Southampton in line with the NHS ten-year plan.
Mountbatten Hampshire community team leader Hannah Bingley and Southampton Central Integrated Service matron Giselle Hudson will discuss partnership working in delivering community-based care.
Delivering end-of-life care to people experiencing homelessness, and those with drug and alcohol dependence, will be the focus of a presentation by Mountbatten Community Nurse Specialist Annette Windmill.
