Bembridge Dental Practice is to close its doors next month, with patients advised to swap to a practice in Newport – a 25-mile round trip.
It’s said that difficulties in recruiting both dentists and hygienists, rising running and employment costs and the lack of Disability Discrimination Act-compliant access are to blame for the decision.
The Station Road practice, which now has just 1 dentist, will close on Friday 28th March.
Patients have been told they are welcome to continue their dental care at Monks Brook Dental in Newport, where Dr Piotr Pirga will be taking a managerial role overseeing the clinical leadership. Monks Brook boasts 3 general dentists and a dedicated 4-member hygiene team.
Dr Piotr Pirga has said in a letter to patients:
“I would like to apologise to patients that have seen me in the recent weeks that I was not able to inform you in person, I wanted to ensure that proper systems were established first, to make this change as smooth and stress-free as possible for both you and my team.
“I understand that this news may be unsettling and kindly ask for your understanding and discretion as we move through this transition. Our priority is to provide clear, direct communication to everyone affected, and I truly value your cooperation in helping us do so.
“I sincerely thank you for your understanding, your loyalty, and the trust you have placed in me and my team over the years”.
Thank the Labour budget for that.
I thought Quigley was going to sort the dental problems out in his first 100 days?
Is that before or after he’s sorted out the Ferries.
Never trust a Politician, they always promise the world
before an Election, then once in power they go sheepish.
I doubt he could undo a packet of crisps without
making a mess.
Serves them right for going private
Where does it say it is a private practice?
