A man who was reported to be carrying a knife and making threats to members of the public was arrested by Police in Cowes this morning (Tuesday).
Hampshire Constabulary says it received a number of 999 calls from concerned locals which led to the deployment of officers to Cowes High Street.
A 34-year-old man from Cowes was stopped and a lock knife was recovered, leading to the male being arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place.
He remains in custody at this time and officers are following up further enquiries.
