A dental practice in Ryde has announced it now has capacity to take on 250 new NHS patients following the recruitment of 2 full-time dentists, helping to ease pressure on services across the Isle of Wight.
Denbigh House on George Street, owned by Edward and Holly Day, has expanded its NHS provision in response to growing demand for accessible, high-quality dental care.
The addition of 2 full-time NHS dentists has made it possible for more local residents to register with the trusted practice, which says it is proud to be part of the solution to lengthy waiting lists in the area.
Edward Day, Owner, has said:
“We know how difficult it has been for many people to find an NHS dentist locally.
“By opening up 250 new places, we’re helping to make sure that everyone in our community has access to the essential oral health care they need.”
Patients who register will have access to a full range of NHS dental services, including routine check-ups, cleanings, fillings, crowns, extractions, preventative care, oral health advice and emergency appointments.
Those wishing to register are encouraged to email [email protected] with contact details, or to phone the practice on 01983 568700. People can also visit the practice directly to enquire.
Spaces are limited and are expected to fill quickly.

This should be, and once was, the norm. At least it is a step in the right direction.

A friend rang the surgery the day this article came out on your website and was told to call back on the 1st August.
On contacting Denbigh House this morning they were told the (waiting) list was not open today and would not know when it would be.
Dear Island Echo Someone else I know rang last Friday and was told to ring today (1 August). They rang today and was told they should have rung last Friday and got put on the waiting list. Today they were told it was too late they had over 500 names on the waiting list.
