Islanders are warned to take care when making the most of the great outdoors this Bank Holiday Weekend as UV levels are set to reach ‘very high’ across the Isle of Wight.
The IW Met Service has revealed that the UV Index Level will reach a staggering 8 on Sunday and Monday, with temperatures soaring up to a toasty 22c, as air moves in from the East.
Saturday will see a breezy start with a high of 18c with clouds obscuring the blue skies, but it could be beach days galore for Islanders from Sunday onwards with clear skies and increasing temperatures.
An unbroken spell of sunshine will no doubt send Islanders and holidaymakers flocking to the beaches as the Summer season finally kickstarts.
The warm weather is set to last until Wednesday with the midweek daytime high reaching 23c and temperatures for the rest of the week bouncing between 17c and 21c.

More Covid deaths will surely follow. Parking a nightmare, prices sky high, queues at every road junction. Rubbish everywhere.
Glad when it is winter again.
“Always look on the bright side of life……. La La, LA LA, La Lalla La La. Always……….
La la la laaah la lala haha
‘covid deaths’ wake up, no one is dying from this flu lite. Darwinism for you.
Oh dear! Another brainwashed one. I’d worry about more serious illnesses.
What gets me about bank holidays is those of us who would just like to be able to sit outside in a garden to have a bit of peace and quiet apart from birdsong, have to endure the noisy scummy neighbours with their very loud voices and stinking barbecues and thudding of balls against fences, loud raucous music, etc.. Not an ounce of consideration for anyone else. As for the view from government thinking we can scrap social distance, masks etc soon, we need to keep them as it proves less flu around last winter, so all that works and needs to be kept, especially in winter.
