A raid in Newport yesterday afternoon (Thursday) led to Police making 2 drug-related arrests.
At around 14:50, officers from the High Harm Team attended the residential address on Whitepit Lane and detained a 48-year-old male and a 49-year-old male.
During the search, Class A and B drugs were seized, together with cash, phones and other related items.
After the arrests were made, officers conducted door-to-door checks to reassure locals and to explain the noise.
In a statement written on their Facebook page, Tom from the High Harm Team has said:
“If you have information about drug use and drug dealing, tell us, the more you tell us, the more we can do.
“You may not always see an immediate response to something you report, but we do look at all intelligence submitted.

The island is riddled with drug dealers, keep up the good work….let’s clean up the swamp…
problem is will take 2/3 years to get sorted..then a small sentence then out do it all again..
Don’t take em, don’t know anyone who does.
Therefore not my problem
what is wrong with our island always doing stuff to impress…
y’all need to lighten up. if they’re not hurting anyone, leave them alone
Y’all need to listen up, firstly speak English, secondly take your uneducated chav attitude away from the island, we don’t need you, and we don’t won’t you…..So Pixs off…
Well done! Please keep this up and catch these life wreckers….
I think it’s terrible.
“Immediate response” , been reporting it for 3 yrs with times, registrations etc and still nothing been done !
I hope the punishment reflects the crime and not a slap on the wrist .Great work , you officers will never be out of work as plenty more dealers on the island, it’s rife
Very good, drain the swamp of these feral low lifes who are generally a societal parasite.
Well that may/may not be true they will be fined and a walking sentence put on, they are just the smallest cogs in the wheel, it really is about time Island police got off their arses especially if charing me and extra£15 on my Council tax a year♀️♀️they know the bigger importers on The Island they rarely ever act on information given on them, and allow them to launder money thru Cafe’s and garages in particular….
