Vandals have once again caused damage to toilets in Ryde resulting in the closure of 2 of the men’s cubicles at the Eastern Garden toilet block.
The incident took place over the weekend at the toilets on the Esplanade near North Walk, and comes hot on the tale of other vandalism incidents at the skatepark behind the Ryde Superbowl and at the recently acquired Vectis Hall on Melville street.
Tiled walls in the gentlemen’s facilities have been smashed leaving debris all over the floor and a large hole between 2 toilets.
This is the latest in a long list of vandalism of public facilities in the town after the temporary toilets at Western Gardens suffered from extensive damage and fire damage back in September.
The female toilets have not been closed whilst the work to mend the broken men’s toilets is to be undertaken as soon as it is possible to do so.
ALL toilets need to be made of stainless steel NO seats, NO toilet paper, no basin.
Keep it basic IF you need to go then YOU take the tissue, hand gel and limit what the benefit funded chavs can destroy.
Toilets should not be tiled just rough cast concrete walls, if you are desperate for a no 2 anything is better than nothing.
If you insist on better then find a pub to go into.
CCTV and Police on the beat is the answer.
Meanwhile the police are congratulating themselves on clamping down on anti social behaviour in Ryde. Bunch of chocolate teapots.

Awful amount of benefit kept children in Ryde.
Perhaps if benefits were not paid to people, then only wanted, normal children who were loved, and taught by Mothers and Fathers would result.
The more the poor classes are paid to have children, then the more children they will have, and the more trouble there will be.
End all payments and if you cannot afford to fund your own child, then use the free contraception from the NHS.
while i agree with some of your comments its not fair to blame it aii on the poor. for example remember the london riots it was the son of an mp that burnt down a carpet shop that had stood for over 100 years.

Someone in work has children because they can “fund” them. Then, suddenly, they find themselves in a situation where they can’t. An accident leaves them unable to work, their partner leaves them, etc. Are people supposed to have some kind of prescience to know that the child they had today will be “unaffordable” in 5 years time? Please explain how.
Less than 10% of those on benefits are working the system. Most are on them because they need them, so if you stop all benefits you will be harming 9 decent people for every one you righteously punish.
And those 9 will still need to pay the rent, bills, etc. Without benefits the only other option is being starving and homeless or turning to crime.
Sadly when these kids were born, the parents were just kids, underage pregnancies… no idea of how to look after or teach their kids, right from wrong. If they can find the parent.. they should make the parent pay to repair, and again ban the kids off this Island for life. We don’t want them here.

One day these immature idiots will need a loo desperately and might, just might, rue their behaviour. In the meantime, sad as it is because it shouldn’t be so, toilets need to be made locked and paid for. These little s (hits) excuse the pun probably would not want to pay to commit their damage. Or perhaps they would? 20p for damage is still ‘worthy fun’ as has been found in other toilets. What a sad society we live in these days.
Make it contactless payment to enter.
Anyone using the toilet can then be identified.
This must be a very strange place to play. If anger issues are present with you. Join a boxing club get in the ring and let it all go. Old ways do work.and your not removing tax money your previous family paid to repair your vandalism.

This is the damage done by the groups of feral wandering foul mouthed youths who plague ryde esplanade most nights going round doing damage to anything they can see until the early hours of the morning, do we have regular police patrols..no but we are expected to cough up more for the police precept every year and get nothing in return
Why is it blamed on people on benefits?
It’s anti social people who are to blame, change the label please!
All toilets should be pay as you go.
When they catch the culprit they should send them to mainland and bar them from coming here for life…
