A boat lift has sunk into the ground leaving a yacht balancing precariously at a boatyard in East Cowes today (Friday). The incident occurred at the Kingston Boatyard in the North Wight town. It is thought that the crane was moved to an unstable area which resulted in the wheels sinking into the ground, leaving the whole rig at an angle. A boat that was on the lift at the time is now balancing precariously until the situation is resolved. It was back in January that Island Echo reported on boats – at the exact same location – falling over during adverse weather.

Good old fashioned IW Health and Safety in action
How?
Seriously, wtf has this got to do with Health and Safety.
Of course it does you Numpty, could have fallen on
someone.
This has to be one of the least newsworthy stories published in the history of the (digital) printing press.
But then again here I am commenting on it so….
They knew the ground was soft / unstable,so why did they let the boat lift go there ??? People need to be sacked for this show of incompetence.!!!
More shoddy workmanship on this shoddy island.
I have been saying for years Health and Safety does not exist on the
Island, I am right again.
Where does it say that they knew the ground was either soft or unstable? Looks like it has fallen through concrete, so no reason to believe the lift would fall through it until it did.
I blame Island roads.
Ha ha. I am surprised that you haven’t blamed the government, our MP, and extraterrestrials as well.
Wow a no news day .soon be a car upside any time …
it is usual on suspect ground to put a spreader in crane feet. Couldn’t be bothered attitude suspected.
