It has been confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances to Mrs Venables death, however, her husband was initially arrested on suspicion of her murder, as previously reported by Island Echo. He was later released without charge.

That is so very sad, that she didn’t have any extra help when she most needed it? The poor lady was that desperate to take her own life.
How on earth can it have taken the Coroner a year and a half to reach this verdict. Where has that left the deceased woman’s widower all this time. Why is no one holding anyone to account for these appalling delays? They have been known about for years and we keep hearing about a recovery plan but when will the service be back on a reasonable timescale? This is a public service – allegedly.
