Police have launched an appeal to speak to anyone who witnessed a 2-car crash on a major junction on the outskirts of Newport yesterday evening (Thursday). As previously reported by Island Echo Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the busy junction yesterday evening. A Fiat 500 and another car collided at the traffic light junction of Gunville Road and Forest Road, causing significant damage to both vehicles. Firefighters worked to assist those involved from the wreckages before passing 2 casualties into the care of the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service. The incident, which occurred just before 18:35, saw fire crews from Newport and Ryde mobilised, as well as 2 ambulance crews and a rapid response paramedic. Forest Road was temporarily closed by Police from the Gunville junction for traffic heading west. It has since reopened. A spokesperson from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has said:
“If anyone has any information regarding this incident, witnessed the collision itself, or has any relevant dash cam or CCTV footage that may aid our investigation, call 101 quoting reference 44240078693.”

I recommend to everyone who drives sensibly to get a dash cam even a cheap one would prove who is at fault in this situation. I see many people jumping red lights with very little gain maybe two or three minutes tops, is it worth smashing your car or a person up for.
