Between now and Tuesday 3rd January you may see less news from us than normal. This is to allow our team to take a much-needed (and hopefully well-deserved) break and to recuperate ready for the year ahead, at a time of year that is generally quieter across the Island.
You will still find new articles being published over the festive period – including more interesting heritage pieces from our community reporter, Warren – and we will of course bring you all the latest breaking news as it happens, albeit perhaps slightly slower than usual. This year, we have decided not to publish on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.
2022 has, once again, been yet another challenging year for many, but Island Echo has been with you every step of the way, keeping you informed on the latest Island news. This year we celebrated our 10th year of publishing and are now a thriving independent publisher employing a small team of truly local journalists. In August, we hit a massive milestone with 3million page views achieved for the very first time.
By the end of 2022, we will have published a staggering 5,800 stories in just 12 months – all for free. Since 2012, Island Echo has published over 38,000 articles – and they all remain online for viewing.
Commenting on the Island Echo website has now been switched off for the festive period and will return in the New Year.
