A yellow weather warning for strong winds has been issued by the IW Met Service for the weekend, with heavy rain also expected.
2 spells of very strong winds will impact the Isle of Wight throughout Saturday, according to forecasters.
The first spell will be during the early hours of Saturday morning with gale-force Southerly winds gusting up to 60-65mph in exposed locations, which only just about hits the severe threshold of 65mph. The will be accompanied by some heavy rain and this will make for some very hazardous driving conditions.
The second spell will develop Saturday afternoon and into the evening. Southwesterly winds will gust 60-70mph in places, possibly closer to 80mph around some of the heavier showers that will be moving through.
Islanders should be prepared for adverse conditions between 02:00 on Saturday until 01:00 on Sunday.

We need the rain for the Gardens,
All life needs water, including gardens. However there is a point where life drowns due to much of the stuff.
We do not need this much water in this short period, gardens are suffering, nutrients are washed away, roots rot and plants die including grass.
