The Island’s volunteer search and rescue team — WightSAR — received their first tasking of 2022 this morning (Tuesday), with a successful outcome.
This morning, the search and rescue volunteers were called out on the request of Hampshire Constabulary to help trace the whereabouts of a missing person.
Fortunately, Police officers were able to trace the missing person’s whereabouts and call back immediately to stand down the search teams.
WightSAR provides skilled volunteers to assist Hampshire Constabulary and other agencies in searches for vulnerable missing persons on the Isle of Wight. They rely on donations from the public and Support from sponsors to fund their team.
