To allow essential maintenance of the boarding ramp at their Portsmouth port, Wightlink car ferries to and from the Isle of Wight will use the Portsmouth International Port (PIP) instead of the terminal in Gunwharf Road on Sunday ( 16th October) for sailings between 09:00 and 15:00.
This day has been specifically chosen as Sunday 16th October is also the date of the Great South Run in Portsmouth when sailings are usually diverted to PIP to avoid road closures in the city.
The cross-Solent ferry company will be operating a temporary timetable on Sunday as journeys will take slightly longer. Vehicles must be booked in advance and there will also be changes to the way vehicles embark and disembark the ships at PIP.
Customers must arrive for check-in no earlier than 1 hour before and no less than 30 minutes before the scheduled sailing time as vehicle security checks may be required.
Portsmouth Harbour – Ryde Pier Head FastCat services will be in operation during this period as foot passengers will be unable to travel on the car ferries.

Great timing for this weekend.
