A century by skipper Ben Woodhouse saw Ventnor return to winning ways after a run of poor form ways against Totton and Eling at Steephill on Saturday. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Totton & Eling reached the modest total of 180 all out in the 48th over. George Watts (3-11) and Sri Lankan all-rounder, Dineth Thimodya (3-16) were the pick of the bowlers for Ventnor, with Ollie Morgan (2-34) tacking a brace of wickets and Charlie Calloway (1-19) and Daniel Cox (1-36) picking up a wicket apiece. Ventnor took just 32 overs and 4 balls to surpass the Totton & Eling total, with captain Ben Woodhouse hitting a century off 91 balls before being caught by Holbrook off the bowling of Mugochi. However, it was a very tense finish, with Ventnor winning with just 1 wicket to spare.

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Burridge reached a total of 225 for the loss of 8 wickets off 45 overs, with Tom Durman (5-40) the leading wicket taker for Ryde. After losing the toss and being put in to bat, Ryde set a decent total of 218 for the loss of 8 wickets, with Matt Webb smashing a century off 97 balls. However, the visitors went on to reach their target in just 6 overs and 4 balls, with Sandeep Somvar scoring 113 and Firoz Mamode 68 not out. Ryde’s defeat leaves them 10th in the table with a points average of 13.6
Emsworth 159 all out Shanklin & Godshill 95 all out Emsworth won by 64 runs Shanklin were knocked off top spot in Division 3 (South) after going down to only their 2nd defeat of the season. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Emsworth were skittled out for 159 in the 39th over. Brothers Jack (3-17) and Ben white (3-22) were the pick of the bowlers for Shanklin. Shanklin could only manage 95 in response before being bowled out in the 34th over. Shanklin’s defeat leaves them in 7th place with a points average of 18.14

Newport IW 272/2 St Helens 151 all out Newport won by 124 runs In Division 1, leaders Newport comfortably beat St Helens by 124 runs at Newclose. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Newport set a gargantuan 275 for the loss of 2 wickets off their 40 overs. Grant Richardson top scored with 110 not out, with Kevin Winchcombe retiring on 53 not out. St Helens were skittled out for in the 32nd over in reply with Rob Holdcroft (62 not out) top scoring for the village side. Max Poynter (3-33) and Glenn Lovegrove (3-37) did the most damage with the ball for Newport. Northwood 264/9 Ventnor 3rds 160 all out Northwood won by 104 runs Northwood comfortably beat Ventnor 3rds by over 100 runs. After losing the toss and being put in to bat, the home side scored 264 runs for the loss of 9 wickets off 40 overs. Gary (82) and Kevin Cooper (73) top scored for Northwood with Ben Fry (3-34) and jack Gibbs (3-47) both taking trebles of wickets of Ventnor. Ventnor were skittled out for 160 off 30 overs in reply with Morgan Perrin making 52 runs for the away side. Stephen Keates (5-35) was the pick of the bowlers for Ventnor.
