Vectis Academy runner Joshua Price secured a remarkable 3rd place finish at the Gosport Half Marathon on Sunday (16th November), reinforcing his lead in the Hampshire Road Race League following his October win at the New Forest 10 Mile.
The 40th edition of the popular half marathon drew around 1,600 competitors to its fast, flat course along the Lee-on-the-Solent promenade. The scenic 2-lap route began and ended on Browndown Road, offering runners clear views of the Isle of Wight under ideal race-day conditions – dry skies, light northeast winds, and cool temperatures hovering around 11°C.
Price’s time of 1:09:58 placed him ahead of some of the strongest regional talent, with this latest result maintaining his dominance in the Hampshire Road Race League individual standings. The race, considered a staple of the league calendar, has a reputation for attracting elite runners and delivering fast times.
Joshua Price’s performance highlights his consistency and strength, positioning him as a frontrunner heading into the latter stages of the HRRL season.
It was a successful outing for the entire Vectis Academy team, with every member of the squad clocking personal bests on the flat coastal course:
- Joshua Price – 3rd place, 1:09:58

- Alisha Hutchinson – 321st place, 1:34:47
- Becky Stiles – 553rd place, 1:42:42
